Welcome to the website of the Capital Area Watchmaker & Clockmaker Guild (CAWCG), the Central Texas affiliate chapter of the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute (AWCI), and three-time AWCI Affiliate Chapter of the Year. The guild is a non-profit volunteer association of professional and amateur watchmakers and clockmakers. AWCI is the premier professional international organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the highest standards of workmanship in the horological crafts. For more information, see the About us link at the top of this page.
Monthly meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month except December. We also hold an auction each year in April, usually on a Saturday. The December meeting is usually combined into a holiday dinner party on a date to be determined. Other monthly meetings and educational programs are held at a local restaurant and are open to the public. Attendees are not required to purchase a meal, but our host restaurant charges a nominal fee for individuals who don't buy dinner. A typical meeting usually consists of dinner, a short business meeting, and an educational program of horological interest.
Educational classes are held periodically on a variety of horologically related topics. Classes are restricted to CAWCG members only.
Once a year (April), CAWCG conducts an auction of horological related items. Only members are allowed to buy or sell items at the auction
Membership is open to anybody who has an interest in watchmaking and/or clockmaking and pays nominal dues. Guests are always welcome at our monthly meetings
If you would like more information on the CAWCG or on membership, please attend a monthly meeting or send email the CAWCG
