We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month for a business meeting to discuss and vote on Guild business, and for an educational presentation. Meetings also provide an opportunity to visit with others in this field to share information with the group, and to solve individual problems involving repair and identification of clocks and watches. Guild activities include the monthly meetings, an annual auction, classes, an annual Christmas party, and other events as suggested and scheduled. Guild membership is open to all interested individuals. Membership in AWCI is encouraged, but not required for guild membership.
Classes are offered throughout each year that are watch or clock related and are designed for skill levels ranging from the beginner to the advanced student. Prerequisites may apply for some classes.
We conduct at least one auction annually to provide an opportunity for members to buy and sell horologically related items. The Guild retains 10% of sales as a fund raising activity to provide for Guild activities.
If you would like more information on the CAWCG or on membership, please attend a monthly meeting or send email the CAWCG secretary. Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month except for December. The Guild meets at Tien Hong Restaurant, 8301 Burnet Rd (about a mile south of the 183/Burnet Road intersection). The meeting begins officially at 6:00 pm, but members often arrive early to socialize and eat before the meeting starts. Please note: Tien Hong provides a meeting room for our organization—all attending are expected to purchase a meal (it’s very good food) or drink, or pay a $3 charge.
